Could this be ringworm?
I've just heard that my neice (5 years old) who came and visited our house a few weeks ago has got ringworm.. Zeus is the only dog she has had contact with. After researching more into ringworm and looking at Zeus's problems with his dry, patchy and sore skin which he is always biting/scratching.. could this be ringworm??

Re: Could this be ringworm?
Hi Kathy, that's the exact site which I used to read up on ringworm. Although his are not as bad as the pictures in there, they are sort of similar.. or is it just me?

May be an idea to let the vet do check anyway, at least that way you can put your mind at ease and get any treatment that is needed.

Re: Could this be ringworm?
From my very limited experience of ringworm it doesn't look like it, but the vet should be able to test for it.

Get a vet to check, you will need something if it is.
Have any of you got this as well? If not I doubt it is ringworm, that is highy contagous, I once got it when I worked at a check-out from the money I was handling, my horse had it but I didn't get it from him.
To stop others getting it you need to wash your hands every time you touch him.

That's exactly what I was thinking, no one else is in the house has got it so I wasn't sure if it was that or not. I've booked him into the vets so will keep you all updated

Agreed and I don't believe it's ringworm but it never hurts to be safe.

Re: Could this be ringworm?
So it looks like you were all right.. The vet said it isnt ringworm but more likely a grass allergy, i thought it was that or his food initially. He gave zeus a steroid injection to calm him down and advised me to give him piriton and see how he is. Im still going to move him from wainwrights dry to fish4puppies as the majority of his stools are always loose and from what ive read on here it can potentially sort out his skin problems. Thanks for your help!
