talks back.
I've had my staffy pup for almost 20 days already. He is approximately 12 weeks old. I'm having problems
correcting him. When I raise my voice to say "no" bad dog for example,he gets very irritated and answers back to me
by barking and acting crazy. He just hates it when I check him. I was told to do this by my neighbour who says to never hit the pup but to be real firm with them. His dogs listen to him but mine has learnt to answer back to me. Pls help.

Hiya and welcome, ignoring Staffords works, not the behaviour but the dog! Tell him off in a stern voice, sometimes best not to raise your voice though just in a stern voice out of your normal tone, and then do as Steve said above and try time out! Let us know how you get on with your cheeky pup!

Dogs are socialable animals so placing them away from you calmly out of the room he'll get the hang of it because he wont like the isolation

My 14 week old boy is the same. I tell him sternly then put him away from the rest of the family and ignore him for ten minutes. If he tries to come over to us, I just put him straight back. They're smart and fast learners, and they HATE being ignored. Dont worry, he'll soon catch on as long as you're firm and consistent.

Steve,Janey,Shontelle,Miss Rogue,- thanks for the valuable info and definitely will do as suggested. Yeah, staffys are really an intelligent breed and they are so much fun to be with. Thanks
