Can't understand why
people are scared to get wormer from the vets? cause they think it is going to be a silly price cause its from the vets? i just got lexis wormer for £5 and as far as im concerned it will actually work rather than the rubbish you buy off the shelf.
also got my two cats for £4 and one of the buggers ran off and spat it out in the hay, never gonna find that one again.

Mia's come from the vet, I think it's less than £5 and they weigh her to get the right dose, which is good as I don't own scales!!

Re: Can't understand why
I did buy drontal flavour plus over the counter at PAH , not so much price though it is significantly cheaper , more the convenience .
However I have now started with Milbemax for our 2 as it also helps prevent lungworm (drontal doesn't) this requires a Vet prescription so it makes no sense to go anywhere else and it is timed so they ar both on their 3 month period now at the same time so only 1 trip to the vet required

Re: Can't understand why
I get Rockys worming tablets from our vets which are Drontal, the same ones are available on line cheaper.
Lung worm are completely different parasites to intestinal worms, the only way a worming tablet could affect them is if the lung worm is in the digestive tract at the time the tablet is administered. Dont be fooled by claims that it can be prevented.

What are people's experiences with wormers? Lola had Advocate at the rescue centre and the vet gave me Milbemax last time - both made her ill and she has a fairly delicate tum at the best of times. He gave me Panacur this time but I'm half afraid to try it right now as her tum is dodgy in this heat.

Re: Can't understand why
I use diatomaceous earth to worm my two this must be food grade and it's a white powder you add to the food to worm them.

Re: Can't understand why
Thanks for this - Lola doesn't go off lead except at home at the moment so luckily foraging is restricted to anything she can snatch out walking local pavements and a private woodland walk nearby (which I am now very wise to and usually one step ahead of her!) which hopefully minimises the risk. Can you buy it on the internet?

Doesn't matter if your using as a wormer as long as you get food grade suitable for animal and human consumption both are fine to give. Fresh water is lower in silica and is slightly less effective at killing bean weevils but that's about it really
