Lungworm risk
http://www.lungworm.co.uk/
Hope you don't mind me pasting a link to this website. Having a real problem keeping my dog away from slugs/snails in the garden and currently trying to find out what to use to kill the slugs that will be safe to put down.

Re: Lungworm risk
I just looked at the amazon website, this slug repellent is pet friendly and is highly recommended:

Re: Lungworm risk
Have to admit I picked up all the slugs and snails in the garden, put them in a bag and took them to the park.

Re: Lungworm risk
We've got a real bad problem with slugs too, they're a pain in the ar*e! I have to clean them up first thing in the morning before I let Zeus out.
I think I might try the product that Kathy's just put up but the bottom line is, you'll always have to go out and clear them up.

Re: Lungworm risk
I've sprinkled salt all over them at the moment - just worried that he will eat one and get lungworm

Re: Lungworm risk
I have quite a big garden with lots of bushes and trees, there's not a chance I could go pick every single one up before letting the dog out.
I also get foxes in my garden, which are also known to spread lungworm.
A dog could very easily quickly eat slug/snail whilst out on a walk.
I think it's best to treat the dog against lungworm, but I'm unsure of treatment, only one I know is advocate.
Anyone else know of a treatment?
