change in behaviour
Hi every one , I thought Louie was starting to calm down a bit with nipping but today he has been horrendous! This afternoon he kept nipping and nipping at mt legs and I had to pull him off and hes ripped my sons shirt. It really freaked me out when he wouldn't leave me alone it really hurt. We are saying no and turning our back on him and when hes really naughty we put him in time out but when you go to pick him up he has started to jump amd nip at us , he s got loads of toys we try to distract him with but I feel we have gone backwards today. do you think he is an aggressive puppy or is it puppy behaviour , hes now 13 weeks

Re: change in behaviour
I'd say its puppy behaviour, Zeus done the exact same at his age. He still has his episodes where he doesn't listen but I just take him out of the room and leave him outside everytime he does it. If you have to do that 10 times in a row, then so be it, but eventually he will get the idea. I remember at one point I must have took Zeus out of the room, let him in, he misbehaved, so I put him out again for atleast 10/15 times in an hour. He soon got the message! You just have to stay persistent at it, hes still so young.

Re: change in behaviour
It's puppy behavior. I wouldn't have had the confidence to say that either when Callie was that age but really, they are very bitey. I often felt like, two steps forward, one step back (and some days I still do with other behaviors!), but I bet you will see a big difference in about two months if you are consistent with training. Just make a big deal of moving away and ignoring him when he bites. He'll get it eventually.
And I bet other more experienced owners will be along to say something similar...
Great pic by the way.

ah, yes, the sulk. Callie is very good at that. Reproachful look over the back shoulder, usually.

Re: change in behaviour
Its definitely puppy behaviour, a 13 week old pup would not be aggressive. As you've already been advised, just keep doing what you're doing, stick with it and be firm and consistent. I know it doesn't seem like it now, but he WILL get the message eventually! Good luck

Re: change in behaviour
Definately not aggression just normal puppy behaviour. It might have incresed becasue he may have started to teeth which is painfull.
Give him a frozed kong or other treat so it will help with the pain.
