In shock! need to change their food NOW help!
Hi all,
Am new to this website and my eyes have been opened!
I am shocked to read that I've been feeding my babies bad food-supermarket stuff. They are two five year old staffs with very healthy appetites
Theÿ never eat dry food on its own as they have always had tinned meat with it. We were given james welbeloved before but they didn't seem to like it at all - I'm a bit stuck as to what to give them as they will turn their noses up at plain dry
Can anyone help! Thanks

Moo is fed fish4dogs, I buy the food over the net as it is way cheaper and gives the entire range Saying that if there doing well on it after 5 years is there a need to change? If Moo gets picky I add in sardines or a raw egg, then you get a clean bowl in about 5secs!!
Hiya and welcome from us

Hi and welcome to the forum from Rocky and me.
Please see list of recommended foods below. I feed Rocky Barking Heads and he loves it. Fish4Dogs is also a very good food which is highly recommended here. I add a little fresh cooked , cooled chicken to Rockys food.:

Hi all
Thank you very much for your advice - I'm going to give fish4dogs a try, price wise it works out well to. I'll chuck in some egg ad sometimes chicken too, they will love that!
I sometimes give them sardines or tuna with their dry would that be a bad idea with the fish for dogs?
Thanks

Hi!
Barney has his lily's kitchen pouch in the morning for breakfast, for lunch he usually gets something small, like a treat, a bit of meat - cooked chicken, turkey or tuna, mixed with his dry biscuits. Then in the evening he gets his main meal - we usually cook something, like a white rice with bits of meat and veg, or just mix his biscuits with meat.
2 times a week I cook something special for him - like gluten free pasta with turkey etc...only healthy stuff, no fat.
Once a week Barney also gets a full steak, cooked well done. I also feed him lamb steaks sometimes, and very occasionaly he gets pork steaks, all that cooked well done.
He's on Royal Canin medium adult dog complete dry food.
Hope thats been helpful!

Re: In shock! need to change their food NOW help!
Hi and welcome from me and my girls you will get lots of great advice on here about feeding and i,m sure you will find what suits your budget and dogs the best, if your dogs are healthy and fit and are eating their food no need for panic, Fish is great for dogs and there coats, mix it with a dry food afew times a week,My two hated all the recommended food, i tried everything all of them on our list on here, nope they wouldn,t eat a thing!!!! now they are on a very basic dry food, fresh cooked chicken or some fish and i mix in a multi vitamin too, feeding is a mind field so many options and opinions if you are changing do it gradually especially as you haven,t mentioned them not having any problems on their current foods x

You'd be better off giving him the steaks (beef, lamb or pork) raw! Much more goodness in it!
