Chewing feet/temperment
Im new to the forum so i hope im on the right bit so to speak, My staff is 10 months old and he's forever chewing his feet, hes chewed them that much that theyre turning that horrible brown colour, any advise would be gratefully recieved.
Ive also been told that when they reach about 3yrs old they change temperment with other dogs, as theyve matured, he's such a friendly dog with other dogs and kids i wouldnt want that to change.
Hes been castrated if thats got anything to do with it.

He could be doing this out of boredom, does he have plenty of toys to chew.
How many walks a day does he get?
He may also have an infection in his foot somewhere, in that case a visit to the vet may well be in order.

Re: Chewing feet/temperment
Have you spoken to a vet about his feet? I wonder if there's an underlying allergy or yeast build up which is causing irritation. For the time being I'd sugest that you bathe his feet in warm salty water every time you come in from a walk & then rub in a little Sudocrem to ease the irritation.
Temperament can change at maturity, but generally speaking that's because they have an adult's confidence & are generally calmer if anything. If he's ok with dogs now, and you continue to socialise him, then there's no reason for this to change!

What is he fed on ???
As i'm betting what ever it is its a wheat based diet as his constant feet nibbling is suggesting it is.

You need to ask the Vet, Lola was having her health check last week and the Vet asked if she chewed her feet> I've not noticed but there must be a reason why she asked
