How to plug a kong???
Morning all. As most of you know by now Sophie is on a very restricted diet. We have struggled to keep her occupied as she can't have her kong stuffed any more.
The one we have is the old shape, shaped like a dumbell with a hole running right through.
Anyway, on Sunday we had to have a man repair our boiler. I got chatting and he has an EBT. He said he plugs up the end of the kong with Blu-tak and fills it with water. It then sits in an ice cream container upright until it has frozen and then he gives it to his pooch. Great for in the summer.
Right, I bought the blu-tak. It wouldn't plug up the end satisfactorily, so I rolled it out and encased the end of the kong. Well, it still leaked, well poured really
I like the idea of giving Sophie frozen water. I even thought about boiling up her chicken bones after I have removed the meat and making a sort of stock I can freeze in the kong. She would love that.
Any ideas how I can make my kong water tight at one end please ><

You could try wrapping a piece of cling film around the bottom of it, thus making it kind of watertight, well long enough for it to freeze anyway.

Do you get Prestik there? It is a sticky putty and would be ideal for your needs.

Nope, I tried cling film and sealed it at the edge with an elastic band in the narrowest part of the kong in the middle. That failed as the minute moulding on the rubber pierced the cling film. Same happened with foil

Or try putting the stock into an icecube tray then pop that into freezer then just put the ice cubes into the Kong when you give it to your dog.

Re: How to plug a kong???
That gives me an excuse to buy a bottle of wine. All the ones we currently have are screw caps
I have just cut the top half off of a bottle of squash and dropped said knog in. It is quite a snug fitt. I have filled bottle with water and will chip excess ice off or just give it to Sophie as it is until I can get a cork
Sorry, I forgot to say you are talking to the missus
I don't mind grolsh either

How about a carrot? They are tapered, just push it from inside to out?
