Weepy Eyes Empty Weepy Eyes

Post by Gina96 Wed Aug 01 2012, 22:37

My little bug (hes 9 weeks old now) ALWAYS has watery eyes and today it was really bad with little white lumps of goo on his face under his eyes Sad The rest of the area under his eyes is pretty much always wet. I looked in his eyes and they dont look filmy or anything. Is this normal? I am wondering if he might be having allergies he just moved a week ago from Alaska to Alabama and its hot and so different here.

Opinions?

Other than that Bailey is doing pretty good and for the most part loves his crate

maybe pop him to the vet for a check make sure he hasn't picked up a little infection. Tilly has been like this a couple of times and we get a week course of ointment to put on and it normally clears up well

Try cleaning with some boiled, cooled water on a cottonwool ball and give a gentle wipe away from the eyeball.

If it persist contact your veterinary practice for further advice.

I know that cold tea was good for eyes on kittens. Not sure if its the same for dogs.

If his eyes are constantly weeping then i would get him checked out as he could have Distichiasis which is extra eye lashes growing inside the eye lid.

That would be my concern as well. Let us know what the vet says on Friday.

Our little Loki had the same with her eyes. With the last jab at the vet we asked him to check. He said that is could be the change of surroundings, from one area to the other. He wasn't worried about it at all, so maybe your little pup also just needs to get used to the new surroundings with different weather etc.

I will let you know what the vet says tomorrow. I am wondering if it isnt the changes too. IT is very different here to where he was born and all kinds of bugs and plants and he loves to sniff those plants!!

His eyes were no better today but no worse either!

rubys eyes went really watery last week, couldnt see anything wrong, decided to have a quick check and looking under her eyelids she had a grass seed in each eye Sad removed them easily, and found another seed in 1 ear and have now banned her from going anywhere near the long grass around the estate and no issues since thankfully. kept a close eye on her for a day or 2 to make sure no other issues otherwise it would have been a vet trip. hope your little one is ok
