10 week old puppy with bad runs :-(
Hi Newby here. My 10 week old pup has liquid poo! Was a bit loose yesterday morning/afternoon. So fed him scrambled egg for tea......about midnight last night he had a very liquid poo, so this morning I gave him scrambled egg again, but still liquid poo :-( He's fine in himself, still very lively and playful and drinking plenty. He's not pooing more than usual, just when he does there is no substance to it......any suggestions please?

Whats he been eating before the poo , maybe scrambled egg doesn't agree with him as well , what do you make the scrambled egg with ?? Are you in the process of changing over his food, what does he normally eat at the moment ??

I would try skipping a meal to see if his stomach will settle.

We've had him just over a week and he's been eating James Welbeloved puppy food, with no apparent problems. Only thing he has done is lick the bowl of our older staffy before we could move it, so may have had some Butchers meat/gravy, but not very much.
Scrambled egg is just scramble egg....nothing else in it.

Hi and welcome,
Young pups can dehydrate very quickly when they have the runs so you need to keep an eye on that.
What wormer are you using and when was he last wormed?

You could try a bit of chicken and rice very bland foods for a day or two too settle his tummy.
Also a cpl of spoons of natural yogurt will help promote the good bacteria in his gut too.
So long as he's drinking plenty, active and alert u will prolly be ok to monitor him. Ofc nothing beats a call to the vet just to check with them x

Thanks, gonna try him on chicken and rice tonight. Not giving him any dinner. He's still as feisty as ever...! And terrorising poor Izzy, so I don't think it's anything serious.

Nah, I don't think its anything serious. Stress can also do that to a puppy, especially when they are in new surroundings, with new people around them. Our Loki had the same problem and chicken and rice sorted it out quick quick.

Try the chicken and rice to settle his tummy. Ginger is also good for settling upset tummies if you can try to get hold of a box of these and just give a small amount of one.:

How Long have you had him? If its not long maybe he was eating other brands of food via you getting him. When you switch food without weening them on to new food that can upset there belly. Also with the runs and and it becoming de hydrated try putting a verry small amount of water in its food if hes not drinking much to prevent any dehydration. With a young pup that you have, changeing foods can upset there belly. Try find out what he was eating pria to getting him. I would also cut out the scrambled eggs for a while till it eases off. Let me know how you get on

Feisty is good.
I have been surprised by what upsets Callie's tummy...chicken but not steak, bits of cold cuts but not cheese...
If it doesn't clear up in a few days with a simple diet do get stool checked, parasites common and easily treated.

We got him Friday the 13th....! July. He's ok now thanks, just had a day on chicken and rice and it cleared up nicely.
He'd had his 1st injection 3 days before so maybe that upset him.
As for drinking....he drinks loads....always peeing all over LOL
