Suki is acting strangely
Suki rarely barks unless there is someone approaching the door of the house. The last couple of days she has been barking alot and I can't figure out what has here so excited. When she barks her ears are back and her tail is between her legs so I think something scared her pretty good while she was by herself. I don't know what though and she is left alone inside so it couldn't have been a person. The quiet command isn't working all that well becuase there was no real need for it before. Any ideas?

Re: Suki is acting strangely
That is a strange one and difficult because they are so sensitive the strangest things scare them. New things in the house, my daughter dying her hair and even a towel with a cartoon character on it have all scared Bella. No-one has been working outside or anyone nearby doing DIY. People drilling the walls downstairs scared Bella quite badly. I was in so I was able to distract her but it still spooked her for a while. I'm sure if I hadn't been in she would have been worse.

How strange. Without knowing the cause, its hard to find a way to stop it or help her get over it.
Good luck with this one, let us know if you figure it out.

Re: Suki is acting strangely
Hope you manage to find out what it is. Like said previously sometimes it can be something so small. Got a new hoover last week and Blue kept barking all night. Ended up being the cardboard box for the new hoover. He is such a wuss

Really nothing new in the neighborhood and our best guess is that it happened when we were out. She runs over for a cuddle afterwards as well.

Bless them, they can get spooked by the silliest things. Have you a storm on the way again, didn't she act like this last time?

Re: Suki is acting strangely
She's done it before earthquakes and every so often during a thunderstorm but now it's just out of nowhere and not directed at anything I can see or hear

That's what would worry me. Charlie's bark is like a rottweiler's and I would hate to think that he would be bugging the neighbours!
Hopefully it's just a temporary thing and she will be back to normal soon.

Re: Suki is acting strangely
Definitely sounds like something spooked her when you wasnt there is she barking at a particular area in the house ie like at the front door? or is it a general thing, thankfully she is getting better, its so hard when it happens when we aren,t around as we can,t know what has spooked them, the running back too you and very loud barking is normally a warning bark so even though she is nervous she is still trying too tell you whats wrong, hopefully it will just continue too get calmer each day, i am sure you are already but make sure you leave some sound on when you leave her music etc hope suki is better soon

Re: Suki is acting strangely
Much better today. It was just Suki and I as the OH went to visit her mom. She only had one small incident so hopefully things are getting back to normal.

It's good to hear things are getting back to normal for her. Must be so frustrating not knowing what it was that spooked her.

One or two small incidents today but not a full on big girl bark and they were over after 2 or 3
