Hi Welcome to the forum ><
Are you feeding RAW? Is the minced meat for a treat or are you just feeling minced meat?

Re: the best diet
i feed him half dry food and half pedigree tin but im was thinking about givin him some sort of minced meat or tripe instead of the tins as that is what has been suggested to me by someone at the woods where i walk him to meet the other dogs

Re: the best diet
The Pedigree isn't a great quality food to give him. We give Rocky some cooked chicken, just remove the bones and skin, with his dry food (Barking Heads kibble) just blitzed up in a small processor. At least then you know what is in it.

Welcome, really is a personal choice but many here feed RAW and high quality kibble. The links Steve posted should give you all the info you really need!

Re: the best diet
Like said previously if you are giving any cooked food, please make sure all bones are removed. If you are feeding the mince Raw, it would be better if you fed either Raw food or kimble as dogs who eat Raw digest their food in a different manner to which dogs who eeat commercial dog foods do.
