Raw diet
So,I mentioned to Rob yesterday that maybe, just maybe I might try Skye on a BARF diet.I'm a veggie so this is not gonna be easy! He asks what that is and i try to explain about the whole raw meat thing.Soft lad comes out with " but you are gonna cook it first?"
Yes,you great oaf, this is going to be the first raw meat that isn't actually raw but cooked

Re: Raw diet
Have a look through the link that Janey's given you, and also read this.............

If there's anything you need to ask - I'll try to answer. I'm a vegetarian, and believe me, at first it was really hard to prepare Dempsey's food! But you do get used to it, especially when you see how eager they are to eat!

Re: Raw diet
Read both links and would really consider giving it a go.Read one bit where it said you can go a day or 2 without feeding at all....That's gonna go down like a lead balloon with greedy guts

Re: Raw diet
There are a few people who say don't feed at all for one day a week (different day each week), but I've never seen the need. It's supposed to mimic what would happen in the wild, but I feel that our dogs are so far removed from being wild, that it makes no sense.
However, I feed Dempset twice a day & every so often (no set times) I will leave out his breakfast. It seems to help empty his bowels properly.
