Me and the OH have lived together for 12 years. We aren't married but describe ourselves as husband and wife to people. I did ask him to marry me once just to see his reaction. He said yes, so I said 'actually, I don't want to get married, I just wanted to know that you would'.

We have been together 5 years, engaged pretty much straight away after meeting him but have no funds to afford a wedding. Would like to get married on our own, just him, me, our two kids and two required witnesses. But haven't as yet or there will be hige hooha with my family because they weren't invited!
