Max - Staffie x Collie (?) with Hope Rescue
Max is a 4 month old Black and White crossbreed with Brindle legs and is currently on foster in Cardiff.
The Max Fact File
Dog Status: Good
Cat status: Good but will chase if they run
Child status: Excellent
House training: Almost there
Home alone: Just a pup so only left for short periods which would need to build gradually over time. We do not rehome puppies to full time workers.
Basic training: Learning the basics and about walking on a lead but would need further training
Max is in foster with other dogs and has been good with all the dogs he has met but he can be boisterous and doesn’t always know when to stop. He could be rehomed with other dogs or on his own if he has plenty of human company. Care will need to be taken if there are resident dogs to ensure that they would tolerate Max as he can be over the top. Max could be rehomed with confident dog savvy cats but he can chase so they would have to be introduced gradually.
Max is well socialised and very friendly with people. His foster family have been socialising him well including taking him to fundraising events where he greets his adoring public. Max has met lots of children and would be suitable to be rehomed with children. However, Max can be food and toy possessive but is improving but Max’s case we would prefer slightly older children.
Max's housetraining is coming along nicely; he does have the odd accident which is to be expected with a dog of his age. He can be left alone but this is building up very gradually from short periods alone due to his age. We do not rehome puppies with full time workers as they need company and help with housetraining.
Max is an intelligent dog and has picked up his basic training easily using kind, positive training methods. Like any pup if he is bored or in the mood for action he can chew items he finds lying around so anyone taking him on will need to puppy proof their house as he goes through the teething stage.
Puppies need to be neutered at their new owner’s expense. Neutering is a condition of adoption and something we follow up to ensure it has been completed.
We do not rehome puppies to full time workers
Puppies must also be taken to training classes and this will be followed up. If you do not know of training classes in your area please research this before you contact us about rehoming.
All Hope Rescue dogs are neutered (if over 6 months), vaccinated, flea treated, wormed and micro-chipped prior to adoption. If a puppy is not old enough to be neutered then this must be carried out at the owner’s expense when old enough, and the relevant form completed by the vet and returned to Hope Rescue. A homecheck will be required, and you will need to come and meet the dog with your own dogs and family. Hope Rescue rehomes throughout the UK. A Pre-Home Interest Form can be downloaded from www.hoperescue.org.uk and should be returned to dogs@hoperescue.org.uk
