What to call new puppy? And when to bring him home?
He's only 4 weeks old, but counting down the days until he can come home! Super-excited He's the first staff I've personally owned, so on my toes already with what to expect. He's a gorgeous brindle colour. His mum was a pure blue staff, and his dad a pure red and white staff.
I've been stuck since the day he was born questioning what to call him..
Also, what's the best age to bring him home? Something went wrong with his mum this week, and the litter and mum had to be separated. The pups are 4 weeks and 2 days old and already eating hard food that has been soaked down and softened. I was offered to take him this week, because of the situation he's in. 2 of his litter have already been taken, but I've only been offered to take him if I follow the exact routine he's in. Originally, pups were to stay until they were at least 8 weeks old with mum..
Any advice on what's best? I thought it's better if he was kept with the rest of his litter until old enough..
Anyways, here he is;
Few days old

It's best to wait until he is 8 weeks old. He is still learning to socialize from his littermates and this is an important devolpmental time for him

Hi & welcome. He's a sweetie!
It's never a good idea to seperate siblings until they're at least 7 weeks, and preferably 8 weeks or more. They learn an awful lot from each other in that short time, including the fact that they're dogs & a certain amount of bite inhibition.
The breeder has been irresponsible to allow pups of that age to have already been taken to their new homes. They are far too young.
I take it there are still other siblings with him?

Exactly what I thought, I declined when she asked anyhow. I can always visit him whenever I like whilst he's with his other siblings. He's currently with 3 other pups, thankfully not on his own. People who have paid deposits for the other pups have said the same, and they're to be left together until old enough.

I'd leave the name until you get him home, then you can see what name suits his personality.
