i know some wont agree with me on this one but doctors need to get in the real world!! if they cant save enough each week for a good retirement then they clearly cant budget!! Surprised and we trusting them with the NHS I dont want to s

steve the doctors are not saying that when they retire they will have no money in the bank there pension is a topup they have as much right as anyone else to a fair pension yes they earn more and pay less %into there pensions but the amount they get inreturn is less
even if they payed the same as everyone ie 50%
joe pub 150 a month for 45 years =300 a month
mr dr man 2500 a month for 45 years=3000 a month

cant remember the figures off my last pension statment but say we get 17.5% return on our investment so should doctors but they dont they get 12.5%
whats fair in that???????they were allways going to get a worse rate than joe public of 15%
so if you knew you were going to get ripped off anyway would you put more money into your pension .
and before its said get a private pension the same rule aply there dont matter were they go goverment has set the bar and they cant have multiple pension as you cant by law

They're not! And they're not taking action because they aren't getting enough pension, it's because the government have lied to them. If a Bank tried to do what the government want to do, the government would come down on them hard & make them honour the original agreement.

The NHS pension scheme is a ponsy scheme. Employees paying now are paying for those currently retired. The doctors scheme was re-negotiated 4yrs ago. They agreed to pay in more and for there to be no risk to the government of future increases, members would then pay in more. Currently the scheme generates 2billion£ in excess every year, which HMG uses for other matters, it is not kept separately, so no interest etc like a private pension. For over 3 years doctors have had no inflation linked pay increases , ie on a wage freeze. Their contributions are rising year on year over the next 3 years. Senior civil servants in other departments are getting the same pension for one third of contributions! Tories talk about a fair society ! MPs would not accept this.
Newly qualified doctors are looking at paying in 100 000s of £ more , working eight years longer and drawing less pension. Who wants a 68 yr old heart or neurosurgeon operating on you?
