Staffy Appriciation Day??

Just a thought. As staffies have a bad name couldnt we all have some sort of event day, where we can show people how loving our dogs are. I was looking through you tube and so many people have posted videos of their staffs and how well they fit into their families and how loving they really are. So I thought couldnt we do this LIVE?? If people can have events for things like the Landrover shows couldnt we have one for staffies??

That was online and not very successful - I think a Staffy Appreciation day is a great idea if there are people with enough time to pull it off. The skies the limit with these sorts of things. With enough planning there could be sponsorship (allow stalls showing off their products if they contribute), fun competitions etc. It could be a charity event, raising money for staffie rescues.

get the press, have a fun dog show and kids activities. I think its a plan, with a couple of months organisation (or maybe plan for next summer) it could really work especially if everyone chips in and helps.

Organising that sort of thing is a lot more difficult & time consuming than you'd think. If it's to be done properly I think you're looking at the earliest at the back end of the summer, preferably early next summer!

I organised several obedience competitions at my old training club, many years ago, and it was a nightmare!

Something small is possible in a couple of months but something grand would need plenty of planning and advertisement . Looking at least 12 months as funds would need to be generated.

But it's certainly not impossible. It would need to be a team effort with a lot of motivated individuals. As Caryll, they can be a nightmare. (Health and safety, authorities, renting land....

Count me in , I would love to be involved in something like that , I dod start to enquire on here about a big meet or charity walk , trouble is getting the right position in the country where evryone can attend . After I think at least a couple of months I had maybe 20 attendees + 10 more depending upon location so I just deleted the post yesterday.
But seriously I would happily give up a chunk of my time if I could help make something work

Wow thanks guys. I heard this thing on the radio where they help plan your events and that. It doesnt even have to be any massive just something to show the public that our staffs are just like any other dog, real family pets xx

Been doing some research I think its best if we are going to do it, that we plan for it to go ahead next year. If this really is something everyone is interested then the first step is to agree upon a date and organise an events comitee. I hope we can all pull together on this, if we do I really think its possible. Also location wise I think to be fair to everyone to have a vote or something like that. Hope we can all get envolved in this it would be really nice aswell to put faces to names of fellow staffy lovers xx
