Best padded Harness 4 Month old Staffy please!!!
Hi,
I have a 4 month old Staffy and he has always worn a Red Dingo Harness which is now getting pretty tight on him. I didn't find much problems with the harness and have always managed to get it to fit correctly as he grew but it isnt padded. As he has his harness on for quite long periods of time each day i thought a padded one would be more comfy.
I ordered a Medium EzyDog Quick Fit Harness yesterday and i got it today. I bought the medium as he is well within the size range for the Medium. Well IT DOESN'T FIT !! The girth strap has plently ajustment left as he grew but the chest strap ajusted to maximum is still not long enough to make the girth strap sit away from the back of his front legs. I think a Large would solve my problem with the chest strap but then the girth strap is going to be too big even on smallest setting. Gutted, as its a nice harness.
Now i dont want to buy another typeof harness until i get some reccomendations for padded harness's which suit staffys shapes incase i have a similiar problem again.
Any Recommendations???
Ashley

Hi and welcome to the forum from Rocky and me.
If you bought this harness online you can return it under the sale of goods act, if it's not fit for purpose.
Why not try going in your local pet store or a couple and trying on a few, then you could always buy that one online possibly cheaper, as it seems your dog may be inbetween sizes and you may have trouble finding one that fits correctly online.
Ancol do some good harnesses too, may be worth a look. Please see link below, just scroll down a bit but check online prices:

Re: Best padded Harness 4 Month old Staffy please!!!
Hi Everyone,thanks for the replys.
I am just looking on that website just now, I dont think you can get a more padded harness than those ones lol. Im going to give them a call and see what they reccommend for sizing him.
I didn't really think of looking a Ancol Harness's i will have a look at them.
I went and got him a dog coat the other day as it was really bad rain for a few days. Same problem, not one dog coat fitted him perfectly lol I ended up just buying the one that was the 'best' fit. Staffys are very hard to buy for

I have just ordered one of these http://www.dog-harnesses.co.uk/acatalog/Fleece_Dog_Harnesses.html for Blu as his everyday harness needs replacing. Will give it a review when we have it and give it a try.

There are the perfect fit ones from the company Kathy posted a link to - http://dog-games-shop.co.uk/perfect-fit-fleece-dog-harness
They're especially good for growing pups as you often only need to upsize one or two of the pieces rather than the whole thing.
ETA: Just noticed this is an old thread and the OP has already made a purchase

Harness
For when your doggie is big and strong, I would recommend the Julius K9 power harness. It fits beautifully, is well made, strong and comfortable with the added bonus of a handle on the top which is useful when lifting my girls in and out of the car or just holding back Roxie when she gets a bit excitable.
They have had one each now for over a year. They get chucked in the washing machine on a regular basis and always come up as good as new. One fun factor, you can put a logo on the side ??
