Pray for me people !!!!

Right here's the story...

I heard through a friend (whom i meet on regular walks with our staffs) ... That a young couple are having to get rid of their new staffy pup (9 wk old female) as one of their other dogs is attacking the pup every time it walks into a room where the particular dog is and they don't think its far to put the pup through it.. So my friend said to her mate (with the pup) that she might know someone who would be interested in taking the pup for her !!! ME.....

Only because i told my friend a few days ago that i would one day consider getting another staff an i wanted a female to go with Inca... Well fast forward to yesterday as i received an email from the owners of the pup asking me if i'm interested in it and would i like to see her (Lola) in a pic first before considering her ... So i stupidly said yes and next minute after several emails to an fro we arranged to meet the family at home with Lola an we are going to take Inca along aswell to see what she thinks of little Lola..
We are going either this wednesday or friday to see how it all goes but i just know am gunna go all gooey at the sight of a 9 wk old pup... i keep telling meself to be strong an only take the pup if it feels right !!

I will keep you all informed of how the events go and if we have another addition to the family

Quick question folks... Do you think it would be ok to change the pups name (no offence to anyone who has a dog named Lola) if its still only 9 wks old ...
I kinda like unusual names or make one up myself hence my dogs have had the names KRUGA & INCA ...

i can't see why not? marley answers to lots of names(most are swear words)

I hope it all goes well I don't know if I could resist a pup if offered one that needed a home (and you are too close for temptation if Lola and Inca don't get on )

Oh and change the name Ledger was a George when I rescued him from dogs trust he didn't respond to it and it didn't suit him

Good luck with your puppy , I've just gone down the route and taken Tommy and though a complete handful it's so much fun to have a pup around again. I wouldn't think twice about the name change at her age. My breeder had named all their pups and then I came at 6 weeks and chose Tommy so they just changed his name. A lot of it isn't the word but the tone of your voice when you say it

Wow Sue, it's all so easy to get carried away on impulse, only go with it if it feels right to you and of course if Inca gets on really well with her.

I know we would have another if finances were more stable and we had the room, of course. Please bear in mind all the complications before you commit.

Sounds like you could have some exciting times ahead.

Good luck! Don't get swayed by puppy cuteness, though! Personally I'd ask for a vet to check her out before you commit - you never know if they're telling the truth, do you?

No problem - I doubt she's even realised her name's Lola yet anyway!

I've been told u can change a digs name upto 6mths or so x

Agreed, I'd always advise a vet check to be on the safe side and see how the dogs get along before committing to anything. Best of luck and hope it goes well

As for name change Kodi was Max when I got him (as they was going to keep him) I changed it to Junior for 2 days but it didnt suit him so ended Kodi hes not phased and answers to lots like Dave sed its ur voice cos he comes to "u little ba***rd" and that sounds nothing like Kodi

You can change a dogs name whenever you want. After all, to them it's just a word that means they'll get something! I think my dogs think they're called breakfast, dinner or come on!
