Re: pulling on the lead
Have you tried anything like in the thread below. It may be worth getting something like the Canny Collar or similar which should help to stop the pulling. A harness will probably not be of any benefit at the moment as this will not stop the pulling but may make it worse, thus being a bit counter productive. Good luck, please let us know how you get on. :

Re: pulling on the lead
We used to turn the other direction when Suki was pulling every time. It took us forever to get anywhere but after some time she did learn.

Re: pulling on the lead
we are doing what jstaff says and that has helped, and we also got a the Easy Walk harness which has the clip in the front so discourages pulling and that seems to help a lot especially when the kids want to walk her and aren't really interested (read capable) of doing the stop and turn around the other direction method.

Re: pulling on the lead
Also maybe try a gentle leader harness, which is a nose harness that tightens around the muzzle when they pull, it has helped very much with mine, sounds a bit mean but it's completely fine, and once they initially get used to it being on their nose it works really well. Although I know some people which is doesn't work for and some dogs just can't get used to having something attached to their nose, I have found it quite beneficial.

I'd swear by the Easy Walk (front ring harness). Has made walking Callie a pleasure.
