It is possible for a staffy to have a reddish/pinky nose, it's called a Dudley nose and is considered to be a fault.

ETA: Is your pup KC registered?

Welcome to the forum by the way Smile

it's very unlikely be a real pit.. but she could be a type... as long you bring her up right you shouldn't have a problem.. if anybody say pit you say cross breed Wink

the paws are not big enough to be a pit and her eyes are lovely and round ...ppl like to pass comments in the street and dont really know what they are talking about , i still get ppl saying in the street he looks like a pit but if you put next to one you can see he is way to small and has a much smaller build . Take no notice of em i look at your dog and just see a beautiful staffy

Hello and welcome to the forum from me and the kids Smile As others here have said
1) She looks lovely
2) Don't worry about what other people say , just train her right and keep her occupied
3) Don't mention pit and when asked she is a cross

She is a beaut! Love Struck

Breed actually doesn't matter. It's a 'pitbull type' that's banned although the APBT and Am Staff come under it. I've heard of a lab cross shar pei (parentage proven) be deemed as type. The law is so stupid, one dog out of a litter may be of type but it's littermates not. A breed like the Ridgeback could meet many of the below characteristics

"The standard used to identify a PBT is set out in the American Dog Breeders Association standard of conformation as published in the Pit Bull Gazette, vol 1, issue 3 1977 – please refer to this for the full description and also relevant cases20 as this is only a brief overview. Although the law does not require a suspected PBT to fit the description perfectly, it does require there to be a substantial number of characteristics present so that it can be considered ‘more’ PBT than any other type of dog.

• When first viewing the dog it should appear square from the side, and its height to the top of its shoulders should be the same distance as from the front of its shoulder to the rear point of its hip.
• Its height to weight ratio should be in proportion.
• Its coat should be short and bristled, (single coated).
• Its head should appear to be wedge shaped when viewed from the side and top but rounded when viewed from the front. The head should be around 2/3 width of shoulders and 25 per cent wider at cheeks than at the base of the skull (this is due to the cheek muscles).
• The distance from the back of the head to between the eyes should be about equal to the distance from between the eyes to the tip of its nose.
• The dog should have a good depth from the top of head to bottom of jaw and a straight box-like muzzle.
• Its eyes should be small and deep-set, triangular when viewed from the side and elliptical from front.
• Its shoulders should be wider than the rib cage at the eighth rib.
• Its elbows should be flat with its front legs running parallel to the spine.
• Its forelegs should be heavy and solid and nearly twice the thickness of the hind legs just below the hock.
• The rib cage should be deep and spring straight out from the spine, it should be elliptical in cross section tapering at the bottom and not ‘barrel’ chested.
• It should have a tail that hangs down like an old fashioned ‘pump handle’ to around the hock.
• It should have a broad hip that allows good attachment of muscles in the hindquarters and
hind legs.
• Its knee joint should be in the upper third of the dog’s rear leg, and the bones below that should appear light, fine and springy.
• Overall the dog should have an athletic appearance, the standard makes no mention of ears, colour, height, or weight."

Taken from http://www.defra.gov.uk/publications/files/dogs-guide-enforcers.pdf.

Note the last bullet point.

P.S. This is not intended as any kind of legal advice. I'm no expert, just FYI. Smile

Don't worry. She looks like a staff, although until she's full grown you won't really know, but if you bring her up properly & keep her well trained & socialised you won't have any problems.

She doesn't look pit to me. She's actually not brown & white, she's liver & white. Small difference, but all liver coloured dogs have brown or pink noses. Liver colouring is a fault in staffs, but certainly does happen!

you will always get comments like that from the "street experts" dont worry about it. someone asked if marley had pit in him because he had pointy ears....didnt know if to just laugh or explain that pits ears are cut to be pointy.
Your girl looks very much a staffy to me, and a beautiull one at that Smile

she is gorgeous! she looks exactly like Beau (also 12 weeks) just different colourings!! The street experts have told me that Beau is crossed with a Jack Russell!!! Luckily for me the KC papers suggest otherwise!! I am soo defensive about Beau so i know that sometimes the comments are hard to ignore particularly when they comments are happening frequently!!

She is lovely. As Caryll said it is usually hard to tell till they get older. Dont worry what people say, who really cares anyway!! The amount of people that called Bonnie a Pit Bull was crazy and guess what, she was an English Biull terrier and full breed. Muppets!! Your girl looks exactly the same size as Molly did at that age and she is a KC reg Staffie.
Again, forget about the muppets and enjoy your lovely pup. Its no-ones business anyway.
