Red and White vs Pied
What actually classifies a dog as being pied , as I see red and white staffs and red and white pied staffs

See that Kathy , thanks , but at what point does a red and white change to a red and white pied is it down to a per centage of the colouring ??

I think this explains the percentage of colouring :
Parti-color (Pied, Piebald): two colors that are in variegated patches. Ideally, the irregular patches of color are well defined and cover the head as well as one-third of the body.

pied is when white is more prodominant and red and white is when red is more prodominant

So looking here... Winston , Lola and Cookie( ) are all Red and White ??? and none are Pied, is that correct

all the pups in the comp are red and white, its about the % of white its only pied if there is more white than red

Yes, all three are red & white. Pied is classed as predominantly white with irregular coloured patches over the body.

This has pretty much been answered, but I thought I'd share the the wikipedia page for the term piebald (or pied): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Piebald It can refer to any color, not just red, and can be found in a lot of domesticated animals, not just dogs. And yes, my favorite Stafford in the world happens to be Red and White Pied.
