Sorry, Gunda, we don't want to offend you. Your dogs are beautiful, but just a little too inbred for our liking! ><

Re: Family Tree Red White Pied
Lovely dogs there Gunda, nice to see some of my archies relations in there. I've posted he's pedigree in the forum if you care to take a look. What nonsense from some posters! These dogs are not in - bread, they are LINE-BRED! admittedly there is a fine line between in - breeding and line - breeding but these dogs have been bread, sometimes planned years in advance, by dedicated people who know exactly what they are doing and what they are trying to produce. As is the case with my boy, who has 13.4% i think. so for some to post on here that the dogs are in-bred, posting sad faces as if something is wrong, making snide remarks like "13% inbred" and "ouch" is both a little bit insulting and shows ignorance. I am open to debate on the topic if you so wish?

Re: Family Tree Red White Pied
Line breeding is in breeding, just not quite so close!
It still means that there are dogs appearing several times in a pedigree.
The inbreeding coefficient average for the breed is only 6.7%. Any more than that isn't too good.
The ignorance, I'm afraid, belongs to the breeders who still consider it acceptable to inbreed in this way.
I have nothing at all against your dog - he's beautiful - but his COI, for me, is too high.

I wouldn't be so quick to label others' opinions as nonsense. As you said, there is a fine line between the two, so a lot of the decision comes down to personal opinion. Personally, I think it is inbreeding, but that's just me.
The remarks didn't seem at all snide to me. Maybe you didn't see the posts by the same people, which also complimented the dog.
