White poo
Hi
I'm in the process of changing banes's food from wagg to weinrighrs duck and rice. He as always got access to water, but today one of his poo's was quite hard and almost white. He is still a happy chippy and enjoyed his walk and meeting other dogs at the woods, but just wondered if white poo was ok or should I be worried.

Ok, thanks. I'll take it away and see if it makes a difference.

Re: White poo
bones produce white poo. If you feed a raw diet (like me) then when you see white poo you just add more meat in.
So if they aren't used to bones then that's your culprit and no ive not found anything that dogs like as much as bones. There is no need to stop feeding bones you just need to poo watch and adjust when you see chalky poos

Re: White poo
Yes it will be the bones and the amount of calcium in them. If you are bothered by the amount then give a teaspoon of natural yogurt.

Re: White poo
Definitely the bones! If Bane only gets the occasional bone as a treat I wouldn't worry about it - just the dog's body getting rid of the extra calcium it doesn't need. If bones form a regular part of Banes' diet then be guided by Ella who is the expert on raw feeding. Personally I can't see the harm in an occasional bone as a treat.

Re: White poo
Try a stag bar as an alternative to bones. You can pick them up at most large petshops now as well as a few places online. They are good for keeping teeth clean and Ozzie loves his.
