american staffordshire terrier was a pitbull back in the day, the american kennel club didn't want to make the pitbull a official breed, so a group of die head pitbull owner form their own club up change the bred name wrote up a official standard up and so many year after that the american kennel club add the american staffordshire terrier to their list.
we had this convo already about pitbull in american when the irish and english took their breeds call "bull and terriers" to american year year ago there wasn't enough stock the keep the lines going so they crossbreed them with other terrier, they was called the yankee terrier first then change their name to american pitbull terrier.
english staffords you are talking about is the BULL & TERRIER not the staffy the staffy came from the bull and terrier also god i had enough talking about this over and over again....
