Collar width
I wasn't sure where to put this, so sorry if it's in the wrong place.
Buster snapped his collar last night so I need to buy him a new one. I was going to get a leather one, and I have found one on ebay I like. They do different widths, so was wondering what widths everyone has? I don't want one that is thin, but I didn't want to go too thick incase it looked funny.

Re: Collar width
I've always used a collar of about an inch & a half. The only leather one I've had was for showing, the evry day ones I get are these half check ones...

They do matching leads as well.

Tia is one in July and her collar is 25mm wide. She has another one which is 32mm and they look fine.

Re: Collar width
Aren't leather ones that good then? This is the one I had seen http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Strong-Handcrafted-Leather-Dog-Collar-Made-Measure-All-Breeds-Sizes-/270969714661?pt=UK_Pet_Supplies_Dogs&var=&hash=item84bb9b6031 I was thinking about 1 1/2 inch.

Re: Collar width
We use the soft half check collars as well. Sorry I dont have a link my better half does the shopping. More often we use a harness though.

Re: Collar width
I used to use his harness when out on walks, but with the dog training they prefere you to use the collar in lessons, so now I normally just use his collar. Most of the time he walks well on it, but need one that is fairly strong to cope with when he does pull - and training on the long line Now I'm all confused as to which sort to get. lol

Re: Collar width
I think these are really nice & look very strong as well.....

Does the training class insist on flat collars - some won't allow half checks.

I was just looking at the website When I used to take Tyson I had a half check, but that was a few years ago and it is a different trainer now so I'm not sure.

Re: Collar width
Why not phone the training centre and ask what they would recommend?

Oooooo, I really like the strong stuff collars, I might message him in a minute. I brought a cheap one yesterday so I can walk him and it's not going to last long so need to order one asap. Thank you everyone for the replies and help
