Mia now has a collar!
Mia has never had a collar before, only her harness (which still always had her id clipped on) but she is getting a bit of a nightmare for pulling now so we're trying a collar, seems to be working but she still pulls a little when she sees sumthin she wants.
I stop walking as soon as she pulls, I make her sit and then we carry on but as soon as we start again she continues pulling so then we sit again and oh my god it goes on and on like this people must think I'm retarded if they see me walking her and my hubby insists it isn't working but I'm persevering because it's the only way to teach them isn't it?

Get her to stop then turn and walk in the opposite direction. This does work just takes time.

Its one of those things that takes agesss to work if its going to....u have to give it at least 3/4 months. I gave it a year to no effect lol

The other thing is that as soon as she stops she finds sumthin else to amuse herself with I worry we'd just end up going in circles literally because it'd be stop turn pull stop turn pull because everywher she looks she finds something that she just has to pull to get to!
I think it'll come with time but by all means if others have ideas then I'll give them a try!

Re: Mia now has a collar!
Was wondering about a halting but a friend of a friend uses one on their husky and said its ok but she now has to wear it all the time when walking so whilst it's effective it doesn't solve the problem long term.
