Hey Guys, it's been a while!
Hey everyone!
Not been on for ages, been busy with the dogs and the business, but thought i'd pop on and update you all
Diesel is about 14 months old now and doing well, we had some issues a couple of weeks ago where we very nearly gave him up He's dog agressive, always has been to outside dogs, but a few weeks ago he started on our dogs too, he went for Keyu and caught an artery in her neck, luckily a minor one, but she was rushed to the emergency vets & we decided it was best to find him a dog free home.
We called all the SBT rescues & shelters who took dogs with dog agression, but no where had the space for him. We waited it out for a couple of weeks, and then realised his trigger - over excitement/stress. Each time he has gone for them has been when something exciting has been happening, a game of tug etc, the time he done damage was just after my OH had got home and they were all jumping up and saying hello.
So we had a chat, and decided that he would stay with us and we would manage and deal with his issues, crating or muzzling him at times when he was likely to get excited. It's worked great, and we've only had one slip up, he went to attack but it was very held back, if that makes sense? And before he could make contact I shouted and he stopped dead and went into a down which compared to the last time where it took 2 of us to get hm off is a massive improvement!
So he is set to stay, we are not stupid enough to put him up for rehome on facebook or pet selling types, due to his issues it would end in disaster for either him or another dog, or both. And as none of the breed rescues can take him our only other option would have been to PTS, which considering we can manage his issues we're not willing to do!
Keyu's forgiven him and they're best of friends again now, though we still dont let them play as this gets him excited
So yea, we're all good here, here's a few pics of them all for you
Weight difference then & now, and he's gained more since this pic was taken!

I was so pleased to read your post and hear that you are making some progress. It must have been a difficult decision to make given that your own dog had been attacked but thankfully it was the right one for you.
Please keep up the good work, it sounds like it is a work in progress but now you know what to watch out for this will makes things easier for you. Thank you.

Great to see you back here!
What a scary thing to happen, but well done on working your way through it. Diesel's lucky he's with you!

thanks guys
yep Diesel has us well and truely under his spell! Just had to look at him sitting there giving us puppy dog eyes and we both said he had to stay lol, though he's still not allowed back upstairs at night (yet lol)

I love that last pic. It's so good to hear someone is working on problems. It must have been so upsetting to have that happen.

thanks for the update...I love the pic of him in his blue coat..he just looks so proud!
you are to be commended for trying so hard to sort out the problem and give him a chance.. I can understand how frustrating it is, and I take my hat off to you that you haven't given up on him. I know my old boy Jethro has caused us so much grief and heartache over the years as he is a nervous wreck..but like you I could never give up on him.... though I do have as many grey hairs as he does now !!
