Hi Guys
Hi guys,
I have recently taken on a lovely placid staff female who will be three at the end of the year, she had been living in a busy house with another female dog who was very dominant, especially, at feeding time where only a simple look was enough make her stop eating even if they where at opposite sides of a room, I find now when feeding her she has a nibble and walks away which I don't think is healthy and worry she might not be eating enough however I know this could also be due to her being in a new home, bit of home sickness maybe, I am used to bigger hungrier breeds but I know she is not eating enough I have noticed if I sit with her she will eat a little bit more but I don't want her to be dependant on me to be there sat next to her when She eats, she has been on dry food I'm just looking for advice on how to get her eating and what's best to feed her and build her up as she is on the skinny side thanks for taking the time to look and I would really appreciate any advice any body can offer thanks in advance

Re: Hi Guys
Hi from Tip and me and welcome to the forum. Have you tried mixing some tinned food with the kibble? Sometimes my older dogs don't just like dry kibble?
Like the other said though it does take them a little while to settle. Are you feeding what she used to be fed or did you perhaps change the brand of food?

Re: Hi Guys
Hi from the girls and me . It might help to sit with her next to the bowl and hand feed her a few morsels hopefully this will settle her and let her know eating is ok.
