A twist of fate?!...PLEASE READ
This is Max...
http://www.rspca-burtonbranch.org.uk/Adoption_search_results.asp?rsCat=dog&rsColour=%25&rsSex=%25&rsAge=%25&Submit=Search
Max was in a litter of 5 abandoned pups at the RSPCA
When I saw that the RSPCA had staffy puppies I knew this was what I had been waiting for
I went down there, asked to see the doggies
Whilst walking along the line, I could have adopted every single one of them I feel so sorry for them... but I knew I was waiting to get to the staffy puppies...
When I got to the pen and whistled, 3 came rushing out... 2 brindle, 1 white with a tan (W&T) colouration over his right eye
I knew I wanted a female... I couldn't really tell which was which at that age ( )... I thought W&T was a girl, Max was a girl and Gabbi (the one I adopted) was a boy!!
W&T was the most dominant, trampling over the other 2 whilst yapping at me... Gabbi was yapping at me but enjoyed the fuss... Max looked shy, didn't yap and was being trampled on by the other 2
Now, I know you're not supposed to choose the most timid of the litter, but he (she?!) was so cute I wanted him (her?!)... I went into the office and said "I'd like the FEMALE with the white tip on HER tail!"... the lady looked confused, but went to the pen to fetch "her" anyway... whilst I waited in the holding room
When she returned, she had 2 puppies with her... both brindle & white... "The puppy with the white tip on the tail is a male NOT a female she laughed, so I've bought the brindle & white female too!"
"Ahh" I said, a little embarassed... but thinking "I know which one I'm having anyway!"
So we're in the room and Gabbi is all over me, wanting fuss, whilst Max is busy in the corner tearing open a bag of food!
As time went on, I realised it was Gabbi I should have... I wanted a female anyway and she was soooo loving, whilst Max was dis-interested
"Ah well, Max will get a good home" I thought
** 6 weeks later **
Gabbi needs a new collar... "I'll go down the RSPCA" I thought"... when I got there & found the collar, I asked to see the dogs to say hello! (I had taken to a staffy there called Tye )... they said "Yeah, that's fine... you'll recognise one of the dogs as it's her brother, Max"... "he was returned 2 weeks ago"... "Oh no!" I thought... "but it's fine he has been re-homed and will be leaving soon"... ("phew")
** 2 weeks later **
So today I've looked on the RSPCA website, I like to keep track (lol) and "Wohoo!" Tye has found himself a home! ... BUT... "Oh Nooooooo, what's Max doing back on there?!"
So now I feel so guilty, even though I've ended up with the right dog in the end, It was so close to being him...and now he doesn't have a home... he's gone MUM - RSPCA - Idiot#1 - RSPCA - Idiot#2 - RSPCA, in just 20 weeks
Someone give him a home PLEEEEEEAAAAASSSSSSEEEEEEE!
