Re: introducing a staffie into our house
Hi welcome!
Neutral territory is a must, it would be ideal if this could be in an enclosed pen like a tennis court where you could let them see each other and sniff and if they seem to get on okay let them off without any change of the new dog running away. If they get along fine take them home but not together and let the new dog roam the house first so that your own dog doesn't get protective.
Hate to ask though, but what will you do if they really don't get along?

Re: introducing a staffie into our house
Hi and welcome to the forum from Rocky and me.
As stated already a meet up on neutral ground would be wise to begin with and take it from there if all goes well.

Re: introducing a staffie into our house
Hi and welcome from us and Suki. I'd also advice meeting on neutral ground and a nice long walk

Re: introducing a staffie into our house
Let them meet on neutral ground for sure. Let each smell the others rear then proceed with a very long structured walk(both dogs at heel) for at least an hour and a half before introducing the new dog to the home. Be sure to have the new dog wait for the 'invitation' to come in from your dog. Keeping both on a lead for this excercise would be a good idea. Let the new dog investgate the home in a calm manner. Stop any over excitement immediately. I like the idea of swopping blankets in the mail. Perhaps reading through this article would also be of some help:
