As long as you don't go abroad Steve , you need a passport and if your's has expired then you have to get a biometric one you will love it , it has a chip in and everything
I think going away on your own just depends on the person you are , I couldn't ever do it , but my mate who's been on and off single for the last 10 years will happily take his old camper van round the UK for a week or 2 and be quite proud of all his dinner for ones that he knocks up and evry other year out in the sun abroad for a fortnight

mmmmmmmmmmmm..............Blackpool, the scene of most of my mispent youth Use to go 4 times a year with the lads I worked with , always too smashed to get in the nightclubs and ending up sitting playing Bingo and having singalongs with the old dears back at the guest house. We went 1 year and there was us 4 plus a coach load of OAP's in the BandB, when we got back slightly worse for wear thinking they'd all be in bed and one old bird was on the table dancing with her knickers round her ankles singing Mucky Maggy May, they know how to live because they have lived

Re: i need a holiday
I quite often wish I had a camper van or at least could drive so I could take off for the weekend. One of my friends has been away herself a few times, the last time was about a year ago she went to Venice on her own and loved it

Off to Norfolk on my own Well not strictly, have family there who own a holiday cottage, stayed in a pub last time, this time staying in the cottage next door, across the road from the beach. The regulars are friendly and a dog friendly pub.
Also my aunt (who lives not too far from the cottage) has a 10mnth old lab, fun and games Xx

Re: i need a holiday
you going with your mum and you also got family there... that not really on your own
Re: i need a holiday
I'm not staying with them though, but granted having the use of a car is a huge help! I don't think I could take her on foot, rather difficult!
I went to Ibiza on my own when I was 17 to do a season, didn't like it and came back after 2 weeks if that counts

Re: i need a holiday
I think I could do with a permanent holiday from England the place really gets me down, as if I'm not enough already
But then again it could just be where I have to live.

Re: i need a holiday
go away for the weekend with your OH it always make me feel better, i think i pay like £156 for 3 days in hotel in blackpool i'm going 2 days this year
Re: i need a holiday
I'd love to just be able to take off to the countryside somewhere, anywhere quiet I could take the dogs. Not being able to drive kinda limits it Can't remember the last holiday I had.

Going away on your own can be very relaxing even if it is abroad. I've done it lots of times and always feel much more relaxed when I get back

Re: i need a holiday
I went to my auntys in england but i had to get the boat by myself. Felt very grown up thank you please.
I'd love to go somewhere alone, i get annoyed by people. But i would also love someone to just go to Aus with me for a year, id love to but i couldnt do that on my own.

Re: i need a holiday
When I was in my late teens/early 20s I often used to go away for weekends on my own. Nowhere special, just quiet places where I could think & read & get away from the rat race. I used to really love it. The best place I stayed was in west Malling.
I miss it. Being on my own for short periods.

Re: i need a holiday
Hope you find somewhere to go!! have to find suitable place for dogs or dog sitter/kennels though ...
Yes, I've been abroad alone - BEST holiday EVER - and I've been on an assortment of holidays/breaks, varying experiences, varying company, social classes (except top whack - not my scene). In fact, it was my last proper holiday 1995 - I think I desperately need one too !!
