Re: Bees
my nans dog used chase and eat bee's, did this right up until a few weeks before he passed away, dunno why, but he did get stung in the mouth a few times, we tried to discourage him, but when he was bolting round the back garden it was kinda hard to watch him all the time

Re: Bees
I am constantly distracting Taz from my huge pierris shrub as its in flower and attracting a lot of bees , which of course, as soon as Taz hears the buzz, she's off, nose straight in there. She had a bad reaction to a wasp sting last yr and I dont want to risk it again, plus I feel the bee has a right to collect its pollen and keep the nature chain in cycle

Re: Bees
I haven't had to deal with this yet with Bella, the bees are only starting to come out now. Got a funny feeling she is going to attempt eating them though, so far she tries to eat anything that she can get in her mouth

Heston has turned into quite a Bee Hunter too!!! Fortunately he hasn't had a reaction yet, but Im always on the look out incase. Heston shows much more interesting in things that fly rather than things that scurrie around

Re: Bees
Just found this post, I wanted to say just be careful to everyone, we had a horrible experiance with Tinsel about a month ago.
She was being constantly sick and I mean every 10 mins all day from about 6 in the morning, wouldnt eat or drink for just over 24hrs before we could get her to a vet.
Was a very scary time not knowing what was going on.
The vet said that he had seen this before with his own dogs as well, it seems she had somehow swallowed a bee or wasp and it had stung her in the stomach.
He gave her a anti sickness jab and we had to give her some medicine to re-line her stomach with small amounts of food.
Thankfully after a couple of days she was back to bouncing around again, phew
Anyway so now we try to discourage her from going anywhere near them and are super observant when she's outside
