Off to watch my Stepson im MMA on Saturday

My boy has been doing cage fighting for the last year , mainly training , had 1 fight and took down the event organisers secret weapon (or thats what he though he was) his next fight is on Saturday and his original partner was cancelled he's been paired with this guy ,

told the lad (21) he will walk it as this bloke is an old man at early 30's ,then thought mmmmmm I'm 43 where's that leave me . TBH I'm notoing for the fight it's just to wath the girls that hold up the boards with the round numbers on , does that make me a bad person

What mad for taking his bloke on or mad for doing the MMA. TBH Caryll I |had this big convesation with my OH (his mum) originally she told me if I went to wach him fight she would divorce me , after I stopped smiling and telling her not to tease me I just said , he has always been a bit of a tough guy so if he wants to prove himself I would far rather him do it in a sport like this than by having a fall out with some bloke in the pub after a few beers, she agreed so here we are.

And BTW thats the 1K post for me, sensible one as well no cheating

sorry, you as for mma i enjoy watching it, but won't offer any advice as i don't know either fighters stats or personally and haven't trained in martial arts for a while

I've never trained in martial arts either but I know my lad is a bit of a loose cannon and a bit bigger than this bloke , but this bloke has ben round the block a few times. It will either be great confidence boost for the boy by not backing out from a poorly matched fight or a lesson learnt . \i think either way he will take something away from it.

Best of luck to him. I am a huge fan and advocate of the sport. If he loses he will learn something from it and know what area he needs to improve and a win is always a good thing.

never really took an interest until lately ...just thought cage fighting sounded barbaric but starting to get a feel for it now . he'll do ok however it work out but if he gets beat I just hope its not a humiliating one as that will be a big knock on his confidence and this is probably the first thing that he has really focused on so fingers crossed ........... I want my 25 quids worth

Not barbaric at all if the fighters are evenly matched and actual safer than boxing I think.

Result - stoppage in the 3rd round and victory to my boy well refereed fight but couldn't stop the blood coming . A great night out and saw some good mights, think I might be hooked , but definitely watching rather than taking part

Very proud to be there and see him , Mrs was chuffed as she got to spend the night with my grandson babysitting as I took his partner with me so everyone a winner in the end Got all 3 rounds videod so I will be posting them tomorrow if anyone is interested, once I work out how to get them of this stupid new phone

It's Hagen Marty , the one with the Mohawk , looks the part

Its the Mo hawk lad seen the Leek on his corner team, good fighter mate, could he make a living out of it or is it just a brutal hobby

Impressive debut he looked chuffed to bits with that little trophy he earned it totally dominant throughout

It's a proper passion for him at the moment and he's really focused , his trainer thinks he could make pro long term but I think he doesn't want to get carried away too soon. I enjoyed the night and it was a great atmosphere , fights again in June I'm told trying to get the Mrs (his mum) to come but if it goes wrong we could have a big problem as Hagen's not a patch on her when she's angry

i bet he's not, you have to win and lose in sport to progress, its how you react that matters
