Slightly curious .....
Just wondering if those of you who have a spayed female ..... Do your females look like a boy dog from behind !!!
Several times av thought Inca's lady bits look like they should belong on a boy dogs body ..
Check out her lady bits ...
I know when she was spayed at 9 mnths old, the vet said her uterus was very fluidy an thats why she might have a big back end !!..
Sorry for the close up guys but can someone tell me if this is normal !! She is 19 mnths old now and its no wonder people presume she's a boy if they see her from behind haha ..
I know its abit of a weird post but i just wondered if anyone else has a very well endowed female ..

Re: Slightly curious .....
Must admit I've not seen that before! The only bitch I had spayed just looked normal from behind - no different , really, than before the operation.
I'd question whether it's right or not - I'd be inclined to get a second opinion from another vet's practice.

Poor Inca, no respect at all!!
Moo's aren't like that but thats not to say it isn't normal. I see a lot of female dogs with very enlarged nipples and Moo's have never changed size. She has the girly bits and you can see them though, I guess there all different X

She was the same size when we brought here home from being spayed an the vet said it was because her uterus was very fluidy when they opened her up to spay her !!
Also when she was having some skin problems (approx 8 mnths ago) .. the vets mentioned that its not unknown for a female (who was just coming into season and had a fluidy uterus the day of her spay) to be constantly in a phantom pregnancy mode (after coming round from her spay) as she was coming into season when they opened her up and the females body still thinks its in season so stays at that stage and maybe thats why her lady bits are so big !!... I think he was hinting that maybe her hormones are slightly muddled up ..
Not sure how true this is but i seriously think am gunna need to speak to her vet just to see if she is ok ..

Re: Slightly curious .....
That really doesn't sound right to me. Is there another vet in your area? Could you get a second opinion?
Most vets won't spay if a bitch is just coming into season. And I really don't understand what he means by 'fluidy'. The uterus isn't actually that near the vulva, so I don't know how it could have affected that part of her. Very confused.

Re: Slightly curious .....
Mmmm Moo came into season on the day of her op so I had to wait another 3 months.
I am totally pro neutering but if she was coming into season then its my belief a vet should not operate. I hope that is not the reason. Little bit concerned in what you vet has said but I am no expert.

Faith isn't like that, but that's how roxy looks when she's on season.

Re: Slightly curious .....
Hmm definitely doesn't look right. Mine was spayed at 3 so i seen her area when she was in heat and it wasn't even that inflamed. Since spaying she hasn't had any inflammation. You should get it checked as there is definitely fluid build up there.

Re: Slightly curious .....
I think what the vet meant was she was in season and unlike Janey's vet didn't bother waiting because they already opened her up, so they carried on with the spaying, as for being swollen, the chemicals/hormones were already too far around her body for them all to be removed during spaying,so her body acted like it was in season hence the swelling, extremely irresponsibly of the vet, I would get a second a opinion though, she may need to go on hormone reduction meds or something to get rid of the chemicals produce during season.
