This is a daily occurance, should i stop the cat from being so rough when this happens? Or let the pup get a sore nose, so he learns? BTW he has had a few small scratches on nose and head, but it doesnt seem to bother him

Dog noses are very sensitive so I , personally, would discourage it.

This had me in stitches! the pup is just wanting to play but to me the cat is in total control. Believe me itwould have bolted if it felt threatened. I would however keep an eye on it just as one would when two pups play. Note that the pups ears are back. Worry when the go forward and he gets 'the stare'

Ziggy cat is always battering Violet - not with claws, but a good bat round the side of the head most times. Ever since Violet nipped Ziggys cheek (and left him with a jaunty hair-do for a few days) they've been kept separate. Though Ziggy still tries to hit her though the french doors.

even though it looks funny, I wouldn't encourage it. I'm still getting my cat to tolerate Pippa.. they have come a long way, but I will never leave them in a room alone together lol

i would discourage this as the pup gets bigger and heavier he thinks its a game and play but could hurt the cat without realisng and wanting. Also if pup is outside and sees another cat may think all cats want to play just takes one time and another cat owner to see things wrong way and think the pup is attacking rather than playing. Is funny to watch but could in time be dangerous only due to the pup playing not through aggresion x

Ps we have 12 cats and 18 ferrets and our puppy thinks he can play and when the cats scratch or fight bac stan thinks they are playing i do try and discourage him as he does the same to our other dogs x
