What would you do if you knew someone was breeding dogs constantley for profit.A woman on our estate is.Before i got milly she had some pups advertised for sale so i went to have a look at them.I couldnt believe what i saw when i entered the house.Dogs of all breeds running around. The house was way too small for all the dogs she had and it smelt terrible. When i left the house and got back in the car i was crying i couldnt believe how many dogs were being breed just for that evil woman to make a profit. When we took milly for her booster friday i saw this woman in the vets. With a puppy she had kept proberley from the latest litter of pups and yes it was a bitch she had kept.Ive been told that she has been reported. But if this is true why is she still breeding them.I wanted to report her myself but was worried she may a guessed it was me with me going to the house. Also ive heard today that she has some jackrussell pups for sale. And is asking 300 pounds for them. The cheeky cow wanted 250 for the staffys and she had the cheek to say it was a good offer. If you knew this was going on on your estate what would you do Sad

I would report her
a. to the council - she's breeding without a license
b. to the RSPCA - I know they're crap but they should be informed and
c. to the tax people. I'm willing to bet she isn't declaring the income from the sale of the pups.

If you suspect something illegal is going on there then contact the police.

She's not doing anything illegal - that's the ridiculous thing. She's probably breaking by laws, but not criminal laws.

If you phone the borough council & ask to speak to whoever licences dog breeding establishments - you might get passed around a bit, but you'll get there in the end.
The RSPCA should have a number in the yellow pages - again, you might get passed around a bit.
Phone your local tax office - they will be VERY interested in what you have to say! Big Grin

To be honest, I'd start with the tax office. They're the ones that will act quickly. Do you know the woman's name & full address?

If she is using the premises for breeding dogs it may breach her tenancy agreement, if she produces more than one litter a year she needs a licence and if she is making money then this should all be declared to the tax office (HMRC).

Post by George Mon Mar 26 2012, 22:53

On my search for a decent breeder I came across a guy breeding staffs purely for colour and making a pretty penny from it at 1000 a pup.
He spoke quite proudly about his set up. His latest ad saw all the pups long since sold by the time I called but informed me he already has 2 bitches in pup.
After consulting the oracles here I decided to call the regional SPCA today but the lady on the phone was not too sure what could be done. She will contact her superiors tomorrow and persue the relevant courses of action. They are going to contact the police if there is anything illegal taking place who in turn contact the revenue commissioners.
As the pups are all KC registered I am eager to find out whether this practice is against KC rules. I will phone them tomorrow.

I know this doesn't seem as bad as what was posted here previously but this course of action is at least one avenue that could be persued.

I'm afraid not. The KC can refuse to register pups under certain circumstances - if the dam is under 12 months old, or has had too many litters or has been mated to her father/son/full brother. But they have no legal power. The people to contact are the local council & the Inland Revenue.

if the dam is under 12 months old, or has had too many litters/// they will tend to register false bitches to the KC. then they can breed at every chance of the same bitch, but register the litter under the False bitches name.

Well, then they have to own said bitches. You can't just make up names & register those names with the KC.

I know it can be got round, but there is nothing else the KC can do. They are a club - they have no legal jurisdiction over anyone, other than banning or refusing to register. If they do either of those things they have to have absolute proof that things have been done contrary to the club rules.

During a strange conversation with a guy who serviced my boiler he told me that when breeding his dachshunds he registers a bitch puppy that doesn't exist and then in the future if he breeds a bitch when he shouldn't have any pups from her are registered under the name of the non existing bitch. I'm not sure if that would be possible?. Went rite off him after that

Sure, it's possible, but only if the stud dog owner is in on it as well.

However, if he is ever reported for this he will be struck off the KC register for life, and could be sued by the owners of any pups he has sold. If anyone evr hears of this sort of thing they should report it not only to the KC but to the police as this is actually fraud.
