Runny poop
Talked with my dad who is chief dog pooper scooper and usually feeds when I'm working odd hours. He told he lexi has had a runny tummy. I know she's lost weight and her coat isn't looking very good but I thought her diet had just made her loose to much weighht. Now I'm worried it's something more.
The only thing different about her whole life is that I wormed her about 5 weeks ago other than that all normal.
Any ideas?

Re: Runny poop
hehe well when i first got scarlett she had runny poo for 2 days straight, so i phoned vet and they told me to change food give her a few days to settle and see if she was still bad take her in is she drinking alot of water? could be a tummy bug?
Re: Runny poop
It's impossible to tell she has loads of different waterholes on my yard lol I might put her into one of the stables and give her rice n chicken and water in a bowl so I can see what she's like.

Re: Runny poop
but if in doubt dont hesitate to phone the vets even if you think its stupid asking them there always happy to advise you
Re: Runny poop
It could be she is just a bit ill and nothing wrong with the food. If it keeps up for a couple of days I'd go to the vet

i agree with jstaff thats what i did after scarlett had it for 48 hours
Re: Runny poop
I think she will be getting rushed to the vet asap, ive just looked in her mouth and she has broken off more of her canine tooth on the right. It's right up to the gum now. So maybe she has an infection and its making her feel ill? Shes not finicky about her food, she still wolfs it down lol

Re: Runny poop
I think it would be best to get her checked by the vet Hayley just incase of anything you have missed, then you will have peace of mind at least.

Re: Runny poop
Ledger had a bout of runny poop this week he was ok in himself just needed to go to the loo every 1-3 hours (not good when he will only go in the park but bless he told me every time he needed to go so nothing to clean up in the house) he started late wednesday night so I withheld breakfast and cooked up some brown rice later in the afternoon giving small amounts one with a bit of grilled chicken, about 24hrs after it started his system seemed cleared and he has been fine since
Not sure if he picked up something nasty in the park but all is good now if it had gone over 48hrs I would have gone to the vet hope Lexi gets well soon
Oh and tonight he had been trying similar pester tactics, trying his luck it hasn't worked now I know he is not sick anymore and he has given up and gone to sleep

Re: Runny poop
Gave her rice and chicken tonight for her evening meal. Il see what vet says tomorrow about her condition. She might be "normal" now but I'm just used to her being fat that I think she's skinny haha. The tooth is an emergency though, I'm shamed to say I don't know how long it's been broken for cause I was away 3 weeks and before that I just hadn't really looked.
