Wormer

hi all took diesel for his first round of vaccinations/deflea/worm today and the vet has told me that a puppy has to be wormed every fortnight untill 12 weeks then every month untill 6 months old.
My question is, is it worth having the vet do it or are the shop bought wormers good enough to do the job. If so what is the best brand. Diesel is just 8 weeks old.

I haven't a clue on pups worming but I use 'Drontal' very good and yes I buy it over the net and its cheaper

Sorry wouldn't know about puppy worming tablets but Rocky also has Drontal plus.

I use Drontal too, get it off internet like janey says as its loads cheaper.

Drontal makes Taz sick

So we use the vet prescribed wormer 'Milbemax' which is £6 a time - I guess it could be bought cheaper in bulk from the pet med sites but I won't bulk buy till she is fully grown (as wormer and flea stuff goes on weight of dog )

not sure what the vet gave him i have it in a recipt out down stairs (kids are in bed) cant get to it now. at the end of the day £6 isnt going to break the bank and his welfare means more.

drontal is a good wormer read instructions on weight of pup and give accordingly have spoken to my vet about this and she said was fine just make sure you know your pups weight each time you give tablet ive just bought drontal off of amazon for a fraction of the price they are at the chemists
