Poisonous plants??
Hi all, my puppy arrives tomorrow and I had a horrible thought this morning.
I remembered that grapes were poisonous to dogs, and I have a whole grape (plant) running along my fence. Fortunately, it clearly does not have grapes on at this time of year... but whilst I thought about it I have saw through the plant near the roots to ensure no grapes are produced (they used to drop in bunches all along the length of the fence during late-Summer.
This got me thinking, I also have another plant on the other side... it's either Cotoneaster or Pyracantha which produces little red berries that the birds like to eat. I've now read that these berries can also be poisonous to dogs!
Does anyone have similair in their garden?
Would be only be poisonous if consumed in large quantities??
Is a staffie likely to try them???
PLEASE PUT MY MIND AT REST IF YOU CAN
Thanks for any replies, Danny.

Re: Poisonous plants??
My advice,
If you have read that they could be Dangerous for dogs, it's simple, no dog, or none of the above plants...
Nobody here can tell you if your dog will or will not try to eat them, remove the risk and get different plants.
