easy home made dog biscuits
I found this really easy recipe and made them for the boys....I just couldn't wait to use my new staffy cookie cutter!
the finished products...
recipe...
2 cups SR flour ( I used wholemeal )
1 cup rolled oats
one third of a cup peanut butter
1 and a quarter cups hot water
Mix dry ingredients together
Mix the peanut butter into the hot water and add to flour and oats
Add more flour if the dough is too sticky...
Kneed the dough , roll out till about quarter of an inch thick and cut into shapes.
You can brush the biscuits with a beaten egg before cooking of you like.
Cook in oven at 350 for about half and hour..then cool..they should go hard!
..the boys love them !

Re: easy home made dog biscuits
I just used the plastic cups you get in a set for cooking..sorry I can't be more helpful. ( there are 5..one cup, half a cup, quarter of a cup etc ..)
Believe it or not got the staffy cookie cutter from a staffy rescue page on facebook..I was going through their merchandise for sale and when I saw them had to get one!! It is in Australia though not sure if they post overseas...
I could put the link here if I am allowed..and you could ask them..

As long as you use the same cup for measuring out all the different ingredients, you can use any cup - a small cup will make a small batch, and a big cup will make a big batch
Think I will buy some rolled oats tonight and give these a go, Violet loves peanut butter!

Re: easy home made dog biscuits
I kept them in the fridge..but they only lasted a few days anyway..next time will double the measurements and make a double batch.
I got the staffy head cutter from a staffy rescue in Australia on facebook that sells different merchandise ..a pal bought me the bone shape cutter..the others just from a shop that sells kitchen things..
Let me know if you make some and if your doggies like them everyone!

Farinheit ..all the details have worn off my oven control knob so I put it at about 180 celsius.....they are soft when you take them out but should harden up when cool..
