poor sick Romie

Romeo had a bit of a cough yesterday at the photoshoot, but today he has a runny nose, red eyes and when he gets too acticve his cough flares up, poor thing, the weather is so nice today. its the fist sunlight we have had in 3 months and he has to miss it. he is sleeping on my leg right now, he is feeling very clingy, i guess everyone does when they are sick, even staffies, but he's normally clingy anyway, just, extra clingy today. if he's not looking better by tomorrow i think we might have to go see the vet

its not so bad right now, but i just spoke to Elmo's owner (romeos dad) and she says that Elmo is a little coughy too. might be something going around

Can do. I'd get him checked, though. Dogs shouldn't really cough at all, so he might need some anti-bs

yeah i think he might be staying home for a while. he's been sleeping next to me on the bed for most of the day so i hope he stays relaxed and peaceful so he gets better soon. if its not looking better tomorrow i think i'll be taking him to the vet. he doesnt cough that much actually, like he's no coughing now, but when he stars to play or get a little active it flares up

Poor little boy. Sounds like Kennel cough but I would have him at the vets anyway. Kennel cough is highly contagious and spreads like wildfire and does need anti biotics.

i agree with Ty. if antibiotics are needed, the sooner lil' Romeo gets started on'em the better.

just so you all know Romeo is all better. haven had a sinle cough all day and even his nose has stopped running. still keeping him underwrap for now but i think at most it was a very mild kennel cough

Glad to hear he is better! Just an FYI, there are two types of kennel cough - viral and bactirial. The bactirial needs antibiotics but the viral is less risky and works itself out much like the human cold (although it is different altogether than a human cold). However, if that is what Romeo had, it can relaps as well. Just make sure he stays warm and doesn't go around too many other dogs for a few days.

yeah, i would say viral, he's been as fit as a fiddle recently. but because we live in a frozen hell, he never goes anywhere with out a knitted pull over and an artic dog jacket, he looks like he's wearing a life jacket XD
its good to see him back to his normal self again, but i'll keep him under wraps for a few more dyas, he'll have to deal with not playing with any of his friends
