Re: What tricks have you taught your staffy?
Raff got operated on in January for lumps which were benign thankfully, Insurance would not pay out (E & L ) as although Raff had the lumps from Dec 2011 and the vet said nothing to worry about, so we thought ok Staffies get lumps, however one of the lumps changed in size in Dec 2012 we got him operated on in January 2013, they were not cancerous. E & L insurance said they were pre existing conditions. As vet was not worried why should we have reported it? Money paid but no pay out for us, they refused claim. Wish I had not been so honest.

Currently teach Ledger to walk backwards on command and perfecting 'creep' when he is lay down
High 5 is tag with his left paw
Other side is with his right
He knows his left from right
'mat' is go to mat and sit on it
And my fav is 'cwtch' he comes and sits in between my legs with his back to me and sits on one side of his bum which frees his back paws up for drying

Re: What tricks have you taught your staffy?
my girl can sit/stay/paws/lie/leave (food) come/retrieve (ball/toy) roll over and lots more..
to be fair my kids taught her everything she knows this time around as i taught them how to teach her everything and now she does not have to be spoken too, she can do all the commands without a word being spoken, she really did learn quick from when we got her at 7 mth old as she could not do much when we got her.

Yup, I can identify with that
To my amazement I have been able to teach Flo to:-
Sit
Stay/Wait
Come.... ok with a loud voice and the wind blowing in the right direction !
Shake hands/Paws
High Five
Get Down
and most recently... Drop
All of the above are with hand signals seeing as she can't really hear !!!

Re: What tricks have you taught your staffy?
Love this thread...
Sheara;
Sit, lie down, sit pretty, swap both paws, spin, crawl, high five, jump up, great recall and much more. But for the life of me, nearly 9 years later and he wont leave the bloody ball!!
Mollie; absolutely nothing but leave the ball!! Just barks at you when you ask her to do something.
Youd think they would communicate and swap tricks
