sore armpit
The last couple of days Vinnie has had a red armpit. The skin is quite lumpy and seems as though its weeping.Although I dont know if its sweat and maybe a heat rash. He hasnt got it anywhere else and has had nothing different food wise. The only difference is he has had his coat on for walks the last couple of days, but it doesnt seem to be rubbing, and as I said its only the one side. Any advice on what I could put on it. Obviously if it continues a trip to the vet maybe in order.

Re: sore armpit
I use sudacrem when Moo has any sort of rubbing, if you think it may be a rash, half a piriton may help.
Sure its not his coat causing it? Heat rash in this weather??

Re: sore armpit
I am going to leave his coat off for a few days and see. Will try sudocrem and maybe piriton. When I say heat rash I do have the heating up and woodburner going cause I am pretty nesh!! just wondered if its too hot for him.

Re: sore armpit
Zac had a bit of a rash under his armpit when he had his bandage strapping up his leg and I think that was caused by him getting too hot.
The vet gave us some fuciderm gel and that helped him
Hope it clears up soon x

Re: sore armpit
My dog wears a harness. If it's to tight he gets very red and raw armpits. Not sure if your dog wears one but it could also be the coat doing this. It takes a few days for a scab to form so best to use a collar or something soft in the meantime.
