That is good news Kathie, please try not to worry about it you will be fine.
If you can give a pet a safe, loving and caring home that's all that matters.

Re: RSPCA
Im glad you got a home check! we got a dog from the USPCA one time and came home 30mins later with a dog! didnt get a home check and they didnt tell us anything about the dog just basically said "give us the £60 and off you go"
it was a huge very strong very untrained black lab and no matter how many times we tried to chain him up (he jumped over the wall) he got free and went and tortured everyone. One day he was gone and the lead lying in bits and we just never saw him again. Called the USPCA and they didnt seem really bothered, they just said if thehy find a black lab with no collar they will rehome it unless we go down everyday and check to see if he is there, they didnt want to be phoning us anytime a black lab came in.
they are absolutely usless, they dont give a damn about anything and will half the time only go to a call that might get them some donations e.g. big horse or dog seizures and really horrible cases of abuse. they just take the animals to other santuarys though, i dont even know if they still have a shelter of their own. if they do, they probably just put them down on arrival.

Re: RSPCA
also they don't take anon tips, they will only think about going to a case if you leave your full name and address incase they need to call you for a testament. I can see that putting a lot of people off calling, esp in cases about illegal dogs or animals
