"walkies"!
Hi, over the last week or so Vinnie has started to hide when the lead comes out, It takes so long to get his collar and lead on!. When we eventually get out the door he is fine and does love his walks in the woods. Any advice on if its his adolescent age or should I be concerned!

How old is he now? You could just let him drag it around the house whilst wearing it to get him used to it again Xx

He could just be at the 'I'm not going to do what I am told' stage, but it may be worth a try Xx

Re: "walkies"!
that's interesting because when I used to take Winston for a walk he hated me putting the collar on and hung his head and was all sad..now at just over 10 months I say Walkies and hold his collar out and he comes trotting straight at me and puts his head straight through it!
Might just be a phase he is going through

Re: "walkies"!
Violet is 8 months now, and she doesn't much like walks. It's not so bad if we're going somewhere (she walks to the train station fine, because she likes going on the train and having everyone fuss over her) but if it's just walking for the sake of going a walk, she's less interested. Plus, if we're out too long, she looks to get carried, and when that doesn't work, she tries to get into cars.

Re: "walkies"!
Monty does the same. Mind when you say 'Where's ya lead ?!' or 'Walkes!', he finally is responding to both (one day he will go and fetch his lead!). I'll pull the lead out and bend down to clip on his collar, and he starts walking backwards, he don't want to put it on. But when it's on, he will go straight for the door and he will run like a little lamb once he is out !

Could be a rebellious phase. We show Suki a treat and then have her sit and wait while we put on her jacket and harness. Once everything is on she gets the treat.
