How did you name your dogs?
Since Ty's registered name started with T, I named him plain Ty. I quickly realised that a two syllable name worked better when calling him. So we tried Tyron. This lasted a day cause hi bit my ear when we were cuddling so Ty became Tyson. My old boy was Zulick which is 'little devil' in yiddish. Loved that name.

Rocky chose to come and live with us when we visited Woodgreen Animal Shelter. He was already named and we didn't want to add to the poor little fellas confusion so stayed with it.

I got my pup and put her on my lap and the house we got her from was at the end of a cul-de-sac and at the end of the road there was a Lexus car sales so i came up with Lexi!
Her KC name is Black Velvet Babe but Velvet didn't suit her at all.

well Jethro is named after Jethro Tull but with Winston we had a list of about 8 names we really liked..we thought we would give him a day or 2 and the name that suited him would stand out after that.. and it did!

I wanted mention Vanessa, we share a common taste in music. I dont know why I did not twig to the Jethro Tull reference. Love the 60's and early '70's music. The blues is my favourite and what we called heavy metal. Besides Jethro Tull, I love Uriah Heep,Black Sabbath, Van Halen,
Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple.

For Jack, we basically brainstormed and compiled a short list of names. Some of the contenders were Tonka, Vader, Jorel and Knuckles.
The next staffy we get I have a name already in mind.

Beau was a hard one to find a name for look at a few names that linked with blue. looked at American Indian names but to hard to pronounce
came up with beau
1. frequent and attentive male companion.
2. a male escort for a girl or woman.
3. a dandy; fop.

Vlad was named after Vlad The Impaler. We were told he was the nippy puppy in the litter and he is also black in colouring so wanted something a bit dark and gothic. We also have a name picked out for our next staffy (which won't be for a couple of years!) Dita (the cat) was named after Dita Von Teese LOL.

We wanted a name that was easy to pronounce in Japanese and English. In Japanese Suki means loving and Americans always think of Sookie from True Blood

lemmy was 8 weeks when we got him and when we got in the car to come home AC/DC started playing on the CD player so pete said we could call him angus (angus young the guitar player) i looked horrified and said [sarchasticaly that i would rather call him lemmy (motorhead) and it stuck. that will teach me to open my mouth.
Lottie already had her name from the shelter when we got her and after all she had been through we didnt like changing that as well so left her with it., she suits it and it soon grew on us.

One of the cats was called Seven of Nine and obviously our vet was a Star Trek fan, opened the door of his room and shouted "Seven of Nine, Tertiary Adjunct of Unimatrix 01" talk about funny looks in the waiting room.
