jumping up!
Hi there from New Zealand. I have a 9 month old Staffy called Emmy and she gets over excited when new people are around and persists in jumping all over them. Very usual but annoying. I am working on saying "off" and turning away but how long is this going to take. Help!!!!

Re: jumping up!
How long will it take? Ask Emmy
Just keep at it, be persistent and consistent everyone must do the same with her training methods. Usually a firm NO then turn around and ignore her will do the trick in time.
We still have this problem with Rocky after having him for a year. We don't get that many visitors which could be partly the problem, then when anyone does visit he tends to over do the warm welcome. We tempt him away with a chew stick whick keeps him busy for a few minutes and the chewing helps to calm him down.
Good luck with it

Re: jumping up!
You could try keeping her on lead when visitors enter the house, just until she has calmed down.

Re: jumping up!
Hi and welcome from us and Suki. It can take a good bit of time but if you explain the rules to everyone and they are all consistant she will catch on.

Hi & welcome to the forum.
Can't add anything to what's already been said. Everyone must do the same thing (even your visitors) or it'll take even longer!

Welcome from me and my girls Kita & Izzy
Agree with the above. Consistency from everyone will help Emmy learn the appropriate behaviour. Any relapses, go back to basics and reinforce. It will get better
