since Russell's op (neutering) I have checked his bits every day to make sure it's all healing properly and he has been happy as Larry.
today I noticed that his scrotum is kinda flaky, almost looks like a snake shedding its skin... eeerrrg

any way, I'm a sicko and I touch my dogs balls lol, here's his flaky skin

This happened to Harry and I pointed it out to the Vet when I took him back to be checked over a couple of days after his Op. She advised me to put Sudocream on it and it worked perfectly. Don't know the cause or reason for it but the Sudocream worked a treat.

I'm having a bit of a guess and saying that the skin is shrinking back and so therefore it will flake when it dries out. As Lizzie says a dab of Sudocreme may help with healing or some moisturiser if the skin appears to be dry this will stop it itching. Like I say only a guess.

I think it may be a reaction to the antiseptic they used to swab the area during surgery. Usually iodine which can cause a flaking of the surface layer of skin?

Don't think the V brought lizard dogs when they came. Or did they?

Ewwww! Never encountered this before and that's with working in a vets and having my old boy castrated. It does sound like something to do with drying out, so some moisturiser should help or vaseline or something similar!
